Now, I know what you’re going to say: “isn’t that just having several monsters running around on the battlefield?” And the answer is yes. Why not let those hit points and actions run loose on the battlefield. You celebrate birthdays your way and I’ll celebrate them my way.īut once you figure out how to cram multiple monsters into one body, the next logical question is “can the individual monsters come out to play any time they want?” After all, you’ve got the hit points and actions of several monsters. When you kill one monster, the next one pops out like a stripper jumping out of a corpse. Now, the basic premise behind the Paragon System is “you can build an awesome super monster by cramming several monsters into the same body and giving the whole thing some sort of cool gimmick.” And I accomplished that by basically having the monsters take turns. Especially because this article is mostly about statting up disgusting crap like oozes and slimes and swarms and any long introduction would probably turn pretty disgusting pretty quickly.
